A Sudden Departure | Update Report April 26th 2011 - Version 1.05 Hello Sprunksters, It is with a heavy heart I announce that on June 11th, 2011 the U.B. Sprunki servers will be permanently closed. Many a Journalist covering our imminent closure has blamed low sales of the U.B. Sprunki figures or skyrocketing hosting fees. However, neither of these are true factors. The Truth is, we were targeted. We were attacked. When we first started U.B. Sprunki back in 2006, we received a loan from the Private Equity Firm "Cohlson & Sons NY." Initially, we were happy with the deal. The Royalty Fees that we agreed upon were very, very low... and that's the problem. Cohlson wasn't happy that they got such a small cut of the money we were making. They wanted to re-negotiate their rate, but they didn't have any bargaining power. We were already sustainable and had paid back their loan with interest. We assumed that business had already ended. Little did we know, Cohlson wasn't done with us. They, alongside many other firms, began Wash-trading our stocks overnight, rapidly devaluing our company. The SEC said they'll bring the hammer down on Cohlson and all those involved, but for us, it's over. Even if we are in the legal right to sue, we simply don't have the resources to do so, and no other company wishes to acquire us. Our company existed to use the newest technology to bring forth Joy and Merriment to children, and facilitate Creative Thinking and early Computer Science Education. We failed, not because we didn't meet those goals, but because our goals were opposed by people who see children, not as a new generation of inventors and scholars ready to learn and amount to something greater, but just as the keys to a parent's wallet. For all those Upset by the Game's closure, we are just as upset. But don't take this as a sign that the ideas we have imparted onto you are flawed. Please, the only way we could truly fail as a company is if our limited existence brought no positive change whatsoever. So please, Stay Strong, Stay Calm, the Future can be yours... If U.B. Sprunki.
